Liquid ammonia nitrogen remover is a chemical agent used to remove ammonia nitrogen from water. It commonly appears as a light yellow transparent liquid or a pinkish-brown turbid liquid. It rapidly decomposes on its own when heated and remains relatively stable under alkaline conditions. Its mainstream components are diverse, including oxidizing agents (such as sodium hypochlorite, hydrogen peroxide, etc.) that convert ammonia nitrogen into nitrates through oxidation; precipitants (such as magnesium chloride, disodium hydrogen phosphate, etc.) that generate magnesium ammonium phosphate precipitates with ammonia nitrogen; adsorbents (such as activated carbon, polyurethane, etc.) that adsorb ammonia nitrogen through their large specific surface areas; and metal ions (such as iron, zinc, etc.) that form stable complexes with ammonia nitrogen. Additionally, some agents employ composite formulas. For instance, sodium salicylate is used to neutralize ammonia nitrogen and reduce its solubility; calcium phosphate is utilized to precipitate ammonia nitrogen while simultaneously adjusting the pH value of the water body; and aluminum oxide inhibits the generation of ammonia nitrogen through acid-base reactions.
