It appears as a dark brown liquid with a pleasant aromatic odor.

This composite carbon source features high biological availability and a high effective COD content, offering better cost-effectiveness compared to conventional carbon sources such as methanol, ethanol, starch, glucose, sodium acetate, and acetic acid. It is readily absorbed and metabolized by microorganisms, significantly accelerating the overall denitrification rate.

The product contains no solid impurities, remains stable without phase separation during long-term storage, and delivers nutrients that are preferentially utilized by denitrifying bacteria for nitrogen removal—minimizing uptake by non-target microbial populations and thereby reducing waste.
