Polyether defoamers are a commonly used type of defoaming agent, offering numerous outstanding advantages. They exhibit strong defoaming and foam-inhibiting capabilities, rapidly eliminating existing foam and effectively preventing foam reformation over extended periods, thereby ensuring continuous and stable production processes. These defoamers possess excellent thermal and chemical stability, enabling reliable performance even under harsh conditions such as high temperatures, strong acids, or strong alkalis without degradation of their effectiveness. They also demonstrate superior dispersibility, quickly and uniformly distributing throughout the liquid medium to exert their defoaming action. Furthermore, polyether defoamers are environmentally friendly, with low toxicity, meeting stringent environmental regulations. They are widely applied across various industries—including industrial cleaning, papermaking, fermentation, and more—effectively addressing foam issues in diverse systems, reducing production costs, and enhancing product quality.
Product Introduction
Polyether antifoam agents are a class of non-ionic surfactants synthesized via block copolymerization of propylene oxide (PO) and ethylene oxide (EO) in the presence of an initiator. Since their initial commercial production by Wyandotte Chemical Corporation in the United States in 1954, these products have been widely used globally. China began producing polyether antifoam agents in 1969 and was among the first to apply them in the antibiotic fermentation industry.
Product Advantages
Efficient defoaming and foam suppression: It can rapidly break down foam and provide long-lasting inhibition against foam regeneration.
Excellent stability: It is resistant to high temperatures (some models, such as PPE, can withstand temperatures above 130°C), as well as strong acids and bases, making it suitable for harsh operating conditions.
Good dispersibility: It is easily and uniformly dispersed in aqueous or organic systems, with a rapid effect.
Environmentally friendly and safe: It is non-toxic and pollution-free, complying with national health and environmental protection standards.
Flexible in use: It can be used directly as the original liquid or formulated into an aqueous emulsion for addition.
