Product Introduction:

A demulsifier is a surfactant capable of breaking emulsions, primarily by disrupting the stable electrical double layer and destabilizing the emulsified system, thereby achieving separation of the two phases.

Demulsifiers can be classified according to surfactant types into cationic, anionic, nonionic, and amphoteric (zwitterionic) demulsifiers. Common anionic demulsifiers include carboxylate salts, sulfonate salts, and polyoxyethylene alkyl sulfate salts.

Their mechanisms of action are diverse, including phase inversion (or "phase transfer–reverse deformation"), electrical double-layer compression, adsorption and charge neutralization, adsorption bridging, and enmeshment by precipitates. These mechanisms destabilize fine suspended particles and colloidal ions, promoting their aggregation, flocculation, coagulation, and sedimentation, ultimately achieving emulsion breaking and phase separation.

Demulsifiers are available in both solid and liquid forms. Common packaging specifications include 25 kg/bag and 25 kg/drum. Some products are non-toxic, odorless, and non-irritating, appearing as a light yellow powder or liquid, and are fully miscible with water in any proportion.
